"The last 2km before the finish when you know you're going to win it...was a huge mix of emotions and thoughts."
David Hauss, Pro Trail Runner
What is your biggest goal to achieve in the sport?
I come from Reunion Island so my biggest goal was to take part in the Diagonale des Fous. It is a 162km ultra trail race with 9,643m of elevation gain, crossing the island. I achieved this last year and finishing in 6th place was a dream come true. Now I want to tackle one of the most famous 100 mile races on the Ultra Trail World Tour, the UTMB.
What would you choose as your profession if you weren't an athlete?
I think I would like to go into an artistic job, something like becoming a really good musician, being able to perform on stage and living the dream. Or a totally different path like becoming something spiritual such as a Yoga Master. It 's never too late!
Which is the most important race you took part in so far and why?
I worked hard as a triathlete before to be part of the London Olympic Games in 2012. I gave everything I had on race day and came away with 4th place. So this was a fantastic experience, sharing big emotions with athletes, staff and family. Then I cannot forget Geneva in 2015 at European Triathlon Champs. I won the Individual and Team relay the same weekend. Sharing it with the family was great fun.
COMPRESSPORT is my first choice for all sporting endeavours today. It is a very innovative brand. It allows me to optimize my performance in training, in competition but also for recovery with the different compression ranges. Very stylish and comfortable, the products are extremely well thought out as evidenced by the ULTRUN S backpack which is very comfortable to wear!
What is your favourite product from Compressport and why?
There are many products I really like but the one that stands out the most will be the Hurricane 10/10. Expect to be sober, and stylish, this product is really light and so comfortable to wear. You can wear it pretty much on so many occasions for sport for sure but also for just chilling or hanging out.
