Designing the ultimate race pack with Sebastien Chaigneau.

Seb always wanted to design his race pack, so it felt like he was slipping on a pair of perfectly designed trail running shoes.

He has run ultras in many diverse conditions, in the desert and high mountains, covering as much as 220km non-stop.These adventures have pushed him to do some of his own improvements on existing race bags; stitching and unstitching, cutting and molding his pack to how he wanted it. As his running distances got longer, he needed to find the lightest possible solution for bringing more and more gear.

Carrying all the mandatory kit for an Ultra-Trail Running race has been optimized by an improved level of comfort and stability. His only goal: to forget that he is wearing a race pack.

Seb came to Compressport to have access to the R&D workshops, and to use their state-of-the-art materials. This opportunity has been essential in enabling him to evolve his concept and products, to produce something far beyond his expectations.
