Setting out with the goal of just trying to complete the Ultra-Trail® du Mont-Blanc was the approach that ultimately helped Ludovic Pommeret go on to win it in 2016. Having experienced a series of calf injuries in the year building up to the event and being slightly more rested than usual put Ludovic in an advantageous position to perform. The science behind R2V2s calf sleeves helped to delay muscle cramps whilst racing and supported Ludovic during those steep alpine descents. Little did Ludovic know when heading out on the iconic mountain ultra race that he would go on to win the UTMB® in 2016 wearing Compressport R2V2s.

7 Marathons in 7 Days on 7 Continents. Running 180 miles in a week is an impressive feat, but covering that distance by racing 7 marathons in 7 days on 7 different continents whilst averaging 2:45 per marathon is something very few people are able to achieve. This was exactly the way Michael Wardian wanted to retire from competing in marathon distance races after a successful career as an olympic marathoner. To help him become the fastest person to run the World Marathon Challenge, Michael enlisted the support of Compressport R2V2s.

The product development team behind the R2V2s includes athletes, Body-Science Team and medical professionals who themselves actively participate in trail running and triathlons, they’re able to really understand what athletes need to push their performance to the next level. Since the R2V2 conception in 2009, they have been using the products out in the field and testing them in our specially designed lab at University of Franche-Comté in Besançon, France developing new improvements and iterations season after season. This relentless approach to product development is what attracted Paul Giblin to Compressport, subsequently supporting him to go on and win the 100 Miles of Istria in 2018 wearing R2V2 calf sleeves.

Diego Van Looy discovered the power of Compressport’s compression products after wearing them to support his recovery from surgery in 2015. Gediminas Grinius initially entered the Ultra Marathon scene as a totally unknown runner from Lithuania after discovering the therapy of running as a way to cope with PTSD after an intense military mission in Iraq. He is now a serious ultra athlete having won the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning in 2019 wearing Compressport R2V2s. Gediminas has long understood the benefits of compression garments and attributes his ability to train longer, race harder and recover faster to Compressport’s R2V2s
